Miss Dawn’s Musings – Tumblr Fans

Blog-MissDawnsMusingsI have a variety of fandoms – Doctor Who, Supernatural, Marvel comics, Deadpool, Wonder Woman, steampunk (to name the primary ones). This does not include the broader geekdoms (books, scifi/fantasy, the paranormal, etc.), just a few of the more specific areas. Anyway, I feel like I can legitimately call myself a fan of these things. I know the history, I’ve read things, watched things, researched things, taken part in deep geeky discussions about characters and plots and relationships and “what ifs”. Best Geeky Finds – A Dragon of a Different Color

bestgeekyfinds We’ve all seen what one small decision or change in structure can create for parallel worlds. Micky Smith is Ricky without his grandmother’s death. The Summer of Love never ended with Oliver North as President. If you add a beard to anybody, you know you’ve met the evil version of them. In going though possible topics for this week’s blog I was thinking about the prevalence of comics now, how they have come to be a more respected medium and how they are still relevant to me decades later. Let’s just take it to the beginning, shall we? Continue reading Irregular’s Intel – Why I Love Comics

The Gamer Geek Blog – A Slow Week

GamerGeekHey Geeksters!

This week was pretty slow in terms of news.
Twitchcon was last week, but was just a meet and greet for streamers and their chats to meet.

So because I couldn’t find anything really interesting, here’s something that bothers me.

So I have a problem with RPGs. I has playing Bravely Default last week and I did 9999 damage, and it dawned on me: why are damage caps in RPGs 9999? I’m not a programmer but I am an *editor* (video editor for a Let’s Play channel) so I know it’s not hard to scale the text down and add another number. So that’s what’s been bothering me this week.

Next week I should have some real news for you guys and gals.

That’s it from me. See you in the next level.
