If you’re a fan of Torchwood and have been wondering when the next adventure would arrive, your wait is over. Titan Comics has started a new comic series that takes place after the events in the 2012 novel Exodus Code. Like the novel, the series is also written by John and Carole Barrowman.

As this is a continuation and not a reboot, it’s necessary to know at least some of the Torchwood history and plotlines to get the most out of it. The only characters in it who are still left from the television series are Jack, Gwen and Rhys. And not to spoil anything, but another familiar face does show up and cause some trouble.

There’s only one issue out so far, but it dives into the action from the start. The plot seems to be developing well enough to keep readers interested. And there are some new characters who fit in pretty well to round out the cast. There’s definitely enough of the “what’s going on” element to feel like a classic Torchwood tale. It’s worth a read.
