The Gamer Geek Blog – Nintendo Download

GamerGeekHey Geeksters!

Before I get into this week’s news I’d like to ask for your support. My friends and I started a YouTube channel about a year ago then had to stop due to school and other issues. Now that we’re in college and have some more free time we’ve been starting it back up. But because of how YouTube works, the break we took killed our audience, so I’d like to ask you guys: would you be our new audience? Check out our channel, Otaku Paradise

Nintendo has been busy this week, kinda. They gave us a lot of interesting news and rumors, the biggest being that their next “console” will be either stronger or as strong as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is unthinkable for Nintendo, because their motto is game play over graphics. This is also very confusing because there are rumors floating around that it will be a handheld and console, so it’s still very unclear as to what Nintendo has up their sleeve.

Nintendo also did something very interesting. A few weeks ago, I talked about how Nintendo and the Pokemon Company will be making Pokemon Go, which will be like the handheld games but on your phone. Earlier this week Nintendo, Google, and The Pokemon Company gave the developers of Pokemon Go their budget of… $20 million. While everyone is awe of this, it made me think, with a budget that big maybe they will try to make the game people have been dreaming of. Then I remembered that there are going to be micro transactions in the game.

Nintendo will be bringing over one game from the many Japan-only games, called Fatal Frame in which you walk around and take pictures of ghosts. This is an odd venture for Nintendo since they are adding costumes of Zero suit Samus and Zelda for DLC. Well that’s all fine and dandy, but it raises a much bigger question. Since the main mechanic of Fatal Frame is taking pictures with the gamepad, could this mean that Nintendo is maybe possibly thinking of doing a remake or a sequel to Pokemon Snap where you take pictures of Pokemon?

The League of Legends Worlds Championship was put off for a day due to a game altering bug. Riot has addressed the bug, but it still threw things off schedule. From a normal player’s point of view you can just change up your champion for a few games no big deal, but for a pro player your entire team has to change its whole composition to accommodate that one player, then it becomes a whole new mind game.

Well its that time of year again. Ubisoft is releasing another Assassin’s Creed game, on my birthday none the less. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will take place during the Industrial Revolution of London, split between the main characters Jacob and his sister Evie, which is a first for the Assassin’s Creed series. I’ve been avoiding the story, since I’m going to be playing on day one.

That’s it for me. See you guys in the next level!
