The Gamer Geek Blog – Sega at 25

Blog-GGHey Geeksters!

Sega turned 25 this year and this kinda went unnoticed until they said that they weren’t making a new Sonic game outside of Boom. That made me think that Sega is pretty doomed to go the way of the Dreamcast. Then I remembered Sega still makes great games. The Sonic team is what should have gone under a while ago, and that’s what I keep hearing – that SEGA is going under – but that’s wrong. Sega is doing fine. The last game I can recall that did ok was Stella Glow, but other than that Sega just kind of publishes games and licenses them to other companies like Nintendo. Their Smash Bros deal is why we still have Sonic in Smash, but not Snake (but Snake is a very hit or miss character plus the whole thing with Konami).

So after poking around on YouTube I saw an interesting game called Pinstripe. I don’t know how to describe it, but go give it a look see over at the kickstarter. It’s charming, eerie and the guy making it is doing it all by himself, which speaks volumes.

That’s it for me!
See you guys in the next level!
