Irregular’s Intel – The Kingsman Returns

I am fresh from seeing Kingsman: The Golden Circle and I have to say… WOW! (This is non-spoilery, since some of you have not had the chance to see it yet.) Let’s start with the overall feel of the movie. It feels like an an old friend who has come home and the two of you pick up from when you last left town. Even with certain stories developing and the Statesman being lobbied in, it did not harm the plot one bit. As a matter of face, for a movie that clocks in over two hours long, it most certainly doesn’t feel it!

Speaking of, let’s talk about the Kingsman’s American cousin, the Statesman. They make their money by selling alcohol and the agents take their codenames from said alcohol. They are typically American, but they tend to focus on their charm instead of their brawn to get the job done. And a certain actor who I do not care for (oh, you all know who that is!) is in this movie, and he wasn’t terrible either! On the whole, Statesmen were stereotypical, but in the best way possible.

Now, I can’t talk about a Kingsman movie without talking about the action. Let’s just say that it does not disappoint! It grabs you from the start and does not let go until the end. From the fights to the car chases, everything is over the top, top-notch action. And the music is such a strong accompaniment in this film! There is one scene that will have you hoping that the soundtrack has a particular song that will be stuck in your head as you leave the theater.

Overall, Kingsman: The Golden Circle is a good movie. In fact, you may want to see it multiple times to make sure that you took in everything. Oh, and you’ll never see Elton John the same again!
