Miss Dawn’s Musings – Who Has Time for More TV?!

Blog-MDMIt’s that time of year again – the fall television season has begun. Of course there are shows I’m looking forward to, old and new. But it’s not as exciting a time as it once was.

Now there are new shows and new seasons all year round. Shows I love have already had their full seasons in the spring (Preacher, Outcast) or summer (Killjoys, Dark Matter), though that’s a good thing because there’s not much else on anyway. Others, like Game of Thrones and Vikings, won’t show up until the new year. So the fall tv season isn’t really that big of a deal anymore except for the basic networks.

And with new episodes throughout the entire year, it can make scheduling around real life difficult at times. Sure, it’s only television and, to be honest, if I had to go without it completely I would. But it’s there, so I’ll enjoy it. But keeping up on shows while doing “adult” things like going to work and running errands, not to mention recording three podcasts on a weekly basis and all the little extras I take care of daily for Geek Watch One – well, things get a little tight sometimes. Then again, if I didn’t enjoy the extracurriculars I do, then I wouldn’t do them.

So what am I saying? I’m saying watch the shows you love, try some of the new shows, catch the shows as they broadcast or binge them later – do whatever works for you and makes you happy.
