Playing Around – You Say You Want a Revolution

Do you like RPGs? Do you like history? What if I told you that there’s a game coming that allows you to not just watch history, but help to shape it too? Intrigued, you say?

Make Believe Games recently announced that the campaign for its latest game is now live on Kickstarter. Revolutionaries is an RPG set during the colonials’ fight for independence. You can take part in high-stakes diplomacy or help recruit support from foreign allies. You can even become part of George Washington’s spy network. But you don’t get to just meet the heroes of the revolution – you get to possibly become one!

Make Believe Games has managed to include some amazing guest writers and artists as stretch goals in the Kickstarter campaign. These include award-winning designers Owen K.C. Stephens and Matt Forbesck, as well as the dazzling cartography skills of Alyssa Faden.

As a backer of the Kickstarter (which runs until August 1), you are invited to participate in the “Decipher the Code” promotion. “Decrypt and discover four pieces of Culper code over the course of the campaign for a chance to win a copy of Revolutionaries, the I AM ZOMBIE Field Manual, and Vampire: The Masquerade (1st ed), all signed by Mark Rein-Hagen.”

This is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for to play in the world that you either read about in history class or saw on the screen. Back the Kickstarter, grab some friends and take on the Empire!
