V-Yellow’s Comic Box – Thoughts on B v. S

Blog-VYCBNext month will be the release of Batman v. Superman and fans have been waiting for over a year for this movie. I’ve been in anticipation of this thing since I heard about it two years ago. At first I was upset with the casting, but as time went by I became more interested with the material that Zack Snyder would reveal. Continue reading V-Yellow’s Comic Box – Thoughts on B v. S

Miss Dawn’s Musings – Such an Animal

Blog-MissDawnsMusingsAs a geek and an animal lover, I’ve always loved seeing the sidekick pets on page and screen. Now I’m not talking about a dog or cat who happens to just be around and has no part in the story except for a brief mention. Nor am I referring to the anthropomorphic talking animals that are partners to the main characters. I mean the true sidekick pets, the ones that provide an assist as a real sidekick but also live with the heroes, at least part of the time, and have a connection to them. But does the actor matter much when it comes to comic book / superhero / geek movies, especially in the initial casting? Continue reading Miss Dawn’s Musings – Casting Counts

V-Yellow’s Comic Box – Why I Like the Arrow

VernComicI really like the new season of Arrow and only three episodes have aired. I never was the biggest Arrow fan – I have been a fan of the books but I just wasn’t feeling the show for the past three seasons.  I loved how they introduced the Suicide Squad, I thought it was interesting how in every episode they tell a back story of what Oliver had to go through and there are other elements I like and enjoy watching, but most of the time I was having issue with the Arrow being too much like Batman. Now I know they are very similar – they have no powers, both have to rely on gadgets and physical abilities, also at one point in time they were both millionaires/billionaires, but they are not the same charter.
