V-Yellow’s Comic Box – Returning Characters

VernComicSo my original plan for this week’s blog had to get scraped. I was going to do a review on the Batman/ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles issue #2 but when I went to the comic store by my house they were sold out, so I had to order it from Amazon and it’s not here yet. So instead this week I’m just going to go over what’s been buzzing on the internet with today’s recent comic book news.

First I want to inform everybody on my favorite topic of the past week. It has been teased that Marvel is resurrestingcting two of their more or less popular characters in 2016. The two are Wasp and Wolverine, not X-23’s Wolverine or Old Man Logan, but the original Wolverine. I was curious when they were going to bring him back into the main universe, but I am happy that we will see him again. This does bring up the question of, what will happen to X-23.

Wasp on the other hand, well we haven’t really seen too much of her since Marvel released its Marvel Now line up. She hasn’t been featured in too many issues. She’s not even in the new Avenger comics. Personally, Wasp is one of my favorite Avengers and Marvel characters. I do not know if they will have her team up with anybody or will she have a purely stand alone series? Either/or I’m just happy to see her in the pages of Marvel again. I feel that Marvel is bringing her back into the books because she will be featured in the Ant-Man sequel film.

The Luke Cage Netflix series will be released later this year. The actor stated that this is not a spin-off of Jessica Jones nor is it a sequel show. Luke Cage is its own separate show and it was being recorded before Jessica Jones was shot. But the actor Mike Colter says that he can’t wait to meet Iron Fist.

frostAlso The Flash will be back on air this week to continue the series. We will finally get to see Caitlin Snow as Killer Frost. This will be her Earth-2 counterpart and not actually Earth-1 Caitlin, but getting to see Killer Frost finally on the show is enough for me. The part that makes this episodes plot even crazier is Killer Frost won’t be coming to Earth-1 alone. She is arriving with Earth-2’s Ronnie Raymond, who is Deathstorm. Now this really surprised me. I never thought we would see Deathstorm on The Flash because the only time I saw him in the book as the character was because of the Blackest Night storyline. I thought he needed a Black Lantern ring to become Deathstorm so I’m curious how they will explain why he is able to turn into this entity.
