V-Yellow’s Comic Box – Why I Like the Arrow

VernComicI really like the new season of Arrow and only three episodes have aired. I never was the biggest Arrow fan – I have been a fan of the books but I just wasn’t feeling the show for the past three seasons.  I loved how they introduced the Suicide Squad, I thought it was interesting how in every episode they tell a back story of what Oliver had to go through and there are other elements I like and enjoy watching, but most of the time I was having issue with the Arrow being too much like Batman. Now I know they are very similar – they have no powers, both have to rely on gadgets and physical abilities, also at one point in time they were both millionaires/billionaires, but they are not the same charter. Every time I would watch Arrow I felt like I was watching Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight in a green hood. I know that Green Arrow has a dark side, but he is not the Dark Knight. I am very happy that the producers of the show are finally giving us the Green Arrow. I’m so glad that Oliver is finally showing more humor. He’s a lighter character than Batman, he makes jokes while he shoots those arrows of his, he gives witty remarks while he’s fighting and that’s what they’re giving him for the fourth season.

Also I had an amazing time at Con on the Cob this year. It was my first time going and I can’t wait to go back. I would like to thank Andy Hopp for hosting the event. I would also like to give a shout out for some people I meet there. Dan Brown is a comedian and does some pretty good stand up; you can follow him on Twitter @XDanBrown.
