Whatz Your Geek? – Deanna Sherman

VickyThis week I talked with a fellow actress and stunt woman, Deanna Sherman. Let’s learn what her geek is.

V: Tell us a bit about yourself?
DS:  I’m an actress, football fan, runner and mommy. I started acting at age 6 in school plays and  transitioned to film in 2011. Since then, I’ve been very fortunate to act in multiple feature and short films, TV shows on Investigation Discovery, commercials, print and corporate training videos. My most known TV show is Homicide Hunter, which is the number one show on the ID channel. I’ve gotten to interact with a lot of the fans and was happy to tell my friends and family when to tune in and watch my episode. I’m also happy to say that a film I had a small role in, The Land, made it into Sundance for 2016! I’m a SAG must join and never thought 4 years ago I would have come this far. I’m so thankful for each opportunity given to me.

V : What’s your geek?
DS:  I’m a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes! I’m an alum and have been going to games with my dad since I was in elementary school. I have pictures of me in diapers wearing Ohio State gear so I’ve been a fan for a long time, haha! It was also the only college I applied to since I had zero interest in attending any other school. My husband and I met there and both share the obsession with the Buckeyes. We have a closet filled with Buckeye gear and our basement is loaded with decor.

V: Favorite memory?
DS: There are so many fun Ohio state memories that will always make me smile. It’s hard to pick one, but college was one of the best times of my life. I saw Ohio State beat Michigan at Michigan my freshman year while I was in “Block O” and then I got to rush the field in 2002 when we beat Michigan at home. That was the year we won the national championship against Miami.

V: Anything else you want to tell us?
DS:  When I’m not acting, I’m a stay at home mom to two amazing kids who are 6 and 5 years old. My daughter and son are also both in the entertainment industry and started when they were 3 years old acting and modeling. I love when I book jobs with them and that we can all share this passion together. My husband doesn’t act, but he is a musician for fun. His band is called Blacklister and he plays guitar.

V: Thank you Deanna.
