Into the Unknown – Origins Part 1: Eating and Walking

UnknownLogoWell let’s talk about Origins Game Fair and my five days. I met Etna, a super sweet 16 year old cat. I so wanted to keep her, but all I could do was cuddle with her for two nights. She is a sweet kitty. The moment I woke up she was right there. Then there was Loki, a 4 year old pit mix that liked to lick your knees while you ate breakfast. It was an interesting take on a happy ending. Plus I ate way to much food and drank way more than I am used to, like having beer or beers with my lunch (super uncommon for me – I kinda think work wouldn’t like me drinking at lunch time).

Wednesday we arrived to get our passes. I had to walk 10 minutes to get to the end of the line for our passes but after waiting for awhile I was saved by an Origins Master who is a llama. He got our passes and made sure we got our coupon books, so we could get our free swag, like our limited addition beer glass and our D&D bag. Then at set-up I got into trouble for being a wanderer – smartass me told the kids off, “I am not a wanderer, I need a ladder, do you have one?” Of course they never coughed one up or helped out, so I kept on my mission. I needed a 7 ft guy to hang a banner, so Ken stole a ladder from a neighbor and it still was too short. So he stole a taller one from another neighbor. Then we went to BD’s for dinner – I ate way too much, but how can you say no to guys cooking your food with swords. You can’t, so I ate two plates and a truffle. Then we had to walk back to the car. I regretted being hungry, but I did find an ass on the way and wanted to dry hump it but it was too early in the day and I was sober, so I had no excuse, even if it was made out of some sort of metal.

Thursday we went and had lunch with the llama as soon as the bar opened to get our beer glasses. I survived walking around all day, but was beat. Then the llama took us for burgers. We waited for 45 minutes to get in and I had a burger soaked in 1800 tequila with a side of 1800. I was told it was triple but they lied, it was one shot, poof gone. After I made my lemon and lime look like my shot had horns. Then we were tricked into getting donuts, I don’t like them but ate one.

Then we went back to the house where I made sushi. Was messy and fun because I couldn’t read any of the Asian on the package, so I went by the colored packs inside. I am still not sure on the flavors other than blue and red. I didn’t mix it too well. In spots the sushi got crunchy.

Friday morning we had breakfast made for us. I ate a very sweet cake donut. Was not too bad, that’s when I got my knees licked by the 4 yr old dog. I didn’t mind, just made it hard to move with him sitting on my feet. Then it was time to say bye, bye to the kitty and back to the con.

More walking and standing. We waited for 40 minutes to get our D&D bag but it was worth it. Once the line started moving it was like go, go. Hand one guy your ticket, grab a bag from another guy and run out the door.
