Meeple Moments – Game Spotlight: Sushi Go Party!

Occasionally we feature a post from our friends at The Malted Meeple. Their Game Spotlight series highlights one of the many games in their libraries at Ravenwood Castle and The Malted Meeple. They briefly describe the game, how to play it, and why they like it.

Game: Sushi Go Party!

One of our favorite games to teach new players is Sushi Go!, a quick pass and play card game of collecting sets of delicious dishes. One of our only issues with the game was that the limited number of players in the original version of the game made it tricky to share with larger groups.

That’s why we are so excited that Gamewright has put out Sushi Go Party! – an expanded version of the original with added dishes and ways to score, as well as making it for up to 8 players!

Sushi Go Party! is played in a series of three rounds. Players are dealt a hand of cards (number of cards depends on the number of players) and will choose one from their hand, reveal it simultaneously with the other players, and pass the rest to their hand to the left. The choosing and revealing is continued until only one card remains in each players hand. That card is revealed and players score their points for that round. You earn points by picking and building sushi combos from the cards that display everything from onigiri to tofu and special point boosts like wasabi.
