Comics Cosmos – Spider Trio

Spider-Man has been one of the most popular superheroes in comics since… well… since he first appeared in the 1960s. Since that time, we’ve seen not only many versions of him, but also addition “Spiderverse” characters, like Spider-Girl,  Spider-Woman and even Spider-Ham (yes, he’s a pig). Marvel has brought together three strong Spider-Man adjacent characters with the new limited series Spider-Girls

A tie-in with the Spider-Geddon storyline currently running through the Spiderverse, Spider-Girls features May “Mayday” Parker (original Spider-Girl), Anya Corazon (Spider-Girl Prime) and Annie May Parker (Spiderling). These are characters from different universes who are teaming up to help save the day. Yes, it helps to know the overarching Spider-Geddon plot to follow what’s going here.

The best part of this 3-issue series is the fact that it’s brought together three female Spiderverse characters for the first time. It’s not just the action and heroing that’s important here, but the interactions of these characters as they learn what each represents from their universe.  Written by the fantastic Jodie Houser (who worked on the very well-received Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows), Spider-Girls is a great addition for fans of the Spiderverse.
