Meeple Moments – Staff Picks, Vol. 4

Occasionally we feature a post from our friends at The Malted Meeple. This time around, their staff makes some suggestions of games they think you should be playing. This time, it’s picks from Lindsey, Ashley and Sarah.

With over 350 hobby board games to choose from, our library might be a little overwhelming for some. Don’t worry! Our staff has some great recommendations for you if you are looking for something new to try.

Lindsey, Team Member: King of Tokyo

This Yahtzee-style game brings together press-your-luck dice rolling and everybody’s favorite monsters – King Kong, Godzilla, and more – to wreak havoc on the city and win you big points!

Lindsey recommends this games to groups of 3-5 players that may include some novice gamers.

Ashley, Team Member: Role-Playing Games

There are so many different types of games that include elements of role-playing and those are Ashley’s JAM! She loves that role-playing games give you the chance to be creative and put yourself in another life and do things and be characters you don’t normally get to play.

It is a lot of fun to imagine an alternate reality and go on adventures as an Elf Wizard and test your skills and problem solving against mythical monsters and scheming villains.

Sarah, Team Member: Gloom

In another nod to creative story-telling, Sarah recommends the game of Gloom. In this game you try to kill off your hand of characters in creative and dark ways by telling stories of sorrow and gloom. This game is best for teens and adults with a dark sense of humor who don’t take things too seriously.
