This week I sat down with Vern, of V-Yellow’s Comic Box here on Geek Watch One, to discuss his roots in geekdom and to find out whatz his geek.

Whatz your geek?
Comics, video games, Anime – One Piece, Sonic. Any PlayStation games, Batman series.

Favorite comic book?
Superman, X-man, Batman, Teen Titans, Swamp Thing.
In High school 2006 I started collecting figures. I started back to reading comics in college.
DC I’m into big now. But growing up I didn’t realize Marvel, DC or even Spawn were different companies since they have pretty much the same characters.

How did you get into comics?
At a yard sale 6 or 7 yrs old, my grandpa’s neighbor was selling everything so my grandpa got me some of them. They sat for maybe a yr before I read them.

I am also into Scooby Doo and Tim Burton’s Batman. My mom got me into geek movies, at 6 yrs old I started VHS recording my own shows. I also watched horror movies, my mom let me watch the Spawn movie as a kid. My mom collected Star Wars collectibles, but my Aunt got me into watching Star Wars. My mom used to record shows and set me in my baby chair and I would watch TV while she worked around the house.

Favorite comic character?
Batman, Spiderman.

Favorite item in the collections?
Swamp Thing—DC collectibles 7in tall

Batman Hush trade would be what I want if I’m stranded on an island.

Teletubbies I remember watching as a little kid.
