Life is funny. We make our little plans and we just know where our lives are going to lead us. Our road maps are infallible, right? Wrong!! If someone told me 12 months ago that I’d be sitting here, about to celebrate the One Year Anniversary of Geek Watch One, writing a blog post for the website, while mentally preparing for the second show I am on, Mighty Marvel Geeks, I’d say that they were crazy! But, as I reflect on the past 12 months, oh what a journey it has been!
When Ken and I started to put this thing together, we were convinced that we wouldn’t be able to do more than once a month. But, after our first issue, we decided that once a month was not nearly enough. So we increased from once a month to biweekly…done. Then, we figured that we wouldn’t be ready for a network until this time this year. Then, Dawn met and introduced us to Mark and Jim of the Tangent Bound Podcast and Network. Within 24 hours we were on a network and then our circle began to grow. Because of the awesome team that is Geek Watch One and the connections that we’ve made along the way, we managed to be added to the We Be Geeks Network, met Mike and, after a guest spot, I ended up on Mighty Marvel Geeks! As the year progressed we’ve attended major conventions, interviewed some of the most influential people in the gaming industry, threw one righteous party, brought out some of the tops in geek literature, and covered some of the hottest news for your earholes. Let alone become the Official Podcast of Mutha Oith Creations, OddMall and Con on the Cob!
Honestly, I can’t think about it too much because it will all seem unreal. This is just the beginning. There is so much that I want to do with GW1 and so many places I want to expand it to. I have to say that you, the readers and listeners, encourage me. Just when I think that this is just a little show, I hear from a listener or I look at the sheer numbers of people who check out, share or like our posts on the FB page, Twitter, or follow us on Instagram, and I see how we have grown!
