Best Geeky Finds – Moose and Squirrel Triumph on Prime

Just over one month ago, President Trump was feuding with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, arguing against free shipping and the fact that Bezos owns the Washington Post. At the same time, nobody would have expected an unintentional backlash that now seems like a particular jab at this feud, that of super evil spies Boris Badinov and Natasha Fatale. For those unfamiliar with these dastardly characters, they are Pottsylvanian spies working for Fearless Leader, often stopped in their plans by the famous moose and flying squirrel duo, Rocky and Bullwinkle.  Continue reading Best Geeky Finds – Moose and Squirrel Triumph on Prime

Best Geeky Finds – Smiling in Night Vale

There are two fictional towns I know so much about that I want to live there: Lake Wobegon, Minnesota, and Night Vale. The latter is a town of mystery. The city council are creatures of unimaginable power. The dog park is not for dogs, and the black-hooded sentients inside can devour you. The Glow Cloud is simply right above (All hail the mighty Glow Cloud!). And, meanwhile, Hiram McDaniels, the five-headed dragon, is still on the loose. Night Vale is pretty much your run-of-the-mill town.  Continue reading Best Geeky Finds – Smiling in Night Vale

Best Geeky Finds – Too Much of a Good(?) Thing

With as busy a schedule as I have held for the last month, keeping up with TV shows hasn’t been a priority in life. Not having a DVR, I keep a note in my phone, marking off after watching a show to remember where I left off in the event I don’t come back to it for another month. The thing is, I’ve noticed there is both way too many shows out there and not enough content. Yet I’m still a fan of all of it.  Continue reading Best Geeky Finds – Too Much of a Good(?) Thing

Best Geeky Finds – Take a Shining

“That’s odd, usually the blood gets off at the second floor.”

There a lot of classic films that I’ve never seen. Some due to timing, others subject matter. I may not enjoy some genres but I still try to catch some movies that are on those lists of “100 movies to watch before you die even though they might be the death of you anyway.” Many of these happen to be scary movies, which is why I’ve strayed from looking toward them. Recently though, I have taken a jump into certain classics of such to see if I can handle watching them. I mean, I host a paranormal podcast, yet I can’t watch a horror movie?  Continue reading Best Geeky Finds – Take a Shining

Best Geeky Finds – Space Family Robinson

My love of campy sci-fi has never been restricted to film. Sure, there’re plenty of bad movies out there that I’ll never stop finding tire fires to enjoy. The 60s was the space age though, and everywhere you looked there was a movie about humans traveling to another planet and being attacked by an intergalactic creature. In 1965 this was especially witnessed in living rooms. Lost in Space told the story of the family of astronauts whose ship was sabotaged and shot off course in an asteroid field, left stranded on a planet orbiting Alpha Centauri. The US was about to enter the space race (four years before the moon landing), and this sitcom showed what the world would be like afterwards.  Continue reading Best Geeky Finds – Space Family Robinson
