You know what I’m talking about. About late July you can feel the “back to school” energy is in the air. The commercials are all blasting about the sales… and there you are, with no school to go to… but yet, there’s the paper, pens, pencils, notebooks and portfolios! You can’t deny it… especially if you were an 80s kid! 

Mead’s Trapper Keeper, Organizer and Five Star series did it to you… started the addiction. I’m the same way… went and bought a portfolio last week… with a SOLAR POWERED CALCULATOR!! Yep, ya damn right… a calculator… DON’T JUDGE ME! I’m hunting for funky looking pencils and cool looking notebooks too… for show notes and whatnot, of course! Anyway, you’re all doing the same thing… probably coordinating the stuff, too. Be proud… we grew up in school supplies’ golden age… it is natural that we’re forever hooked.

And, you parents over there… it’s ok that you use the kids as an excuse, too. So I see a few more trips to various stores in the near future… maybe those ninja pencils will finally surface?
