Was it Professor Plum in the library with the wrench? Or maybe it was Miss Scarlet in the ballroom with the candlestick. Yes, we all recall the characters and scenarios of the classic “who dunnit” board game Clue. And now, continuing a partnership that brought comic book versions of Transformers and My Little Pony, IDW is working with Hasbro to bring the mystery to life once more with a Clue comic book series.
Readers can follow the adventures of Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock and others (including the butler!) as everyone tries to not be the next victim while attempting to sort out who the murderer actually is. And there’s quite a body count to deal with! The classic elements of the board game are all here (big mansion, stormy night, conveniently accessible weapons), with some twists and turns to keep things interesting. And yes, readers are left to try to figure out who’s doing all the killing as well!
Clue is a limited six-issue series that began at the end of June and continues until November. No date has yet been announced for a collected trade, but you can bet that one will be released, likely at the beginning of 2018.
