Comics Cosmos – Going Subatomic… Again

With the resurgence in popularity for Ant-Man following the first movie in 2015, it’s no surprise that he started showing up a little more in the comics, both the Hank Pym and Scott Lang versions. And even before the sequel had finished production, The Unstoppable Wasp arrived on shelves, following adventures of the optimistic and nerdy Nadia Pym (no, she’s not in the MCU). Nadia shows up again to help Scott in the recent miniseries Ant-Man and the Wasp

This series was released to raise a bit of hype for the movie and is a fun story, as you might expect. But Scott and Nadia don’t exactly get along very well, so when Scott goes subatomic and gets caught in the Quantum Realm, he’s not too pleased to have Nadia show up to rescue him… or try to. Whether or not you’ve read some of the earlier books, it should come as no surprise that things don’t go quite as planned. And it might not just be Ant-Man and the Wasp who are at risk, either!

The series runs five issues, with a new issue every two weeks – the third issue was released on July 4th. Written by Mark Waid with art by Javier Garron, it’s a fast-paced story that’s easy to follow, with plenty of excitement and a few surprises along the way. It’s a good one for anyone who might only know Ant-Man from the movies as there’s no confusing back story to learn. Going subatomic was never so much fun!
