The Gamer Geek Blog – Killer Instinct World Cup and Nintendo News

Blog-GGHey Geeksters!

Just wow, ok, so there’s a lot to talk about this week since everything wants to happen at once. So let’s start with this past weekend and the Killer Instinct World Cup – that was a wonder to watch in and of itself. Normally KI is just at Evo and Combo Breaker, but now they have their own event which is really saying something. If you don’t know what KI is, head here to watch the event. Rico Suave, the KI Evo winner, won the world cup, but almost lost it playing a “bad” character, proving the point that anyone can beat anyone in KI.

Next up is Pokemon. As of Monday it’s the 20th anniversary of Pokemon and The Pokemon Company wants EVERYONE to join in. What they are doing is releasing one ultra rare mythical pokemon starting with: Mew. If you have X/Y or Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire you can go to Gamestop and get a code for Mew. Nintendo paid for a Pokemon Super Bowl commercial so that will be something to keep an eye for. Red, Blue and Yellow will be coming to the eshop in 3-ish weeks, and then the Pokemon Center website will be selling a lot of things either throughout this month or the year.

So a few months ago I talked about the rumor of Square changing the Tomahawk Class to Cowboy and how its (keeping the blog pg) dumb in the Bravely Second game. So not only did an employee come up with an awesome idea for a new class, they had to animate, code, and write story elements for this class (every sub class falls in the game’s main story). When Nintendo of America saw this they thought it would offend people. If my class got put into a game and was done well that is all the more reason to keep and celebrate it, not change it because of what people might think! To me the worst part of this censorship was we got to see something new and different then have it changed to something so dull and cliché because of what someone else thinks.

And Corrin and Bayo will be in Smash as of yesterday.counter for wordpress
