Irregular’s Intel – Ape for Capes

Lately I have been thinking a lot about Lando Calrissian. Not his swagger or the insane amount of charm he exudes… I’ve been thinking about his capes. What started as just a cool accessory in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi became a full on obsession in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Honestly, I have to admit that I like the cape. Much like the bow tie, not everyone can pull it off, but if you can, why not?

I have promised myself that I will rock one when I get down to a certain weight. I figure that it serves as a good incentive… and it is damn sweet. Think about it: jeans, oxford shirt and cape… you’d be getting in touch with your inner third Doctor too! And I wouldn’t care about the odd looks – people would just wonder why they can’t be as fresh as me!

Come to think of it, what if it begins a trend? Much like the trench coats of the 80s and 90s? I mean, you really can’t rock a cape in a tee shirt… it just would not be a good look. Plus, that thing flowing will make you walk with your shoulder’s back and chest out… and if that won’t get you noticed, nothing will! Look I’m just saying, regardless of who you are, the cape can and should be a viable accessory. It can class up your collared shirt and pants combination and make you feel like the coolest person in the room… because you are!
