Irregular’s Intel – Summer Flings

As school starts to wind down and the heat starts to crank up, we’ll be inundated with suggestions for summer reading and summer series to watch and all that jazz. I think that’s all well and good, but these lists are usually filled with books I wouldn’t read even if I was paid to! But, because my TBR list stretches all of Route 66 and part of Electric Avenue, I decided that I am going to dedicate this summer to something I have not done in 4 years, or so… I am binging all of the Rogue Squadron novels!

I see it like this: summer time is perfect for binging an entire series! There’s nothing on TV, so it’s a perfect time to grab a book, kick back with a beverage (adult or not), put on some music and get lost in the pages. If you want you can even take it outside! Come on, you know that you’re smiling thinking about it. Is it that pulp adventure series that’s your guilty pleasure? Go for it! That hot urban fantasy series that’s more steam than plot? No one is gonna know! That trilogy that you bought at the con about the vampire that is looking for his soulmate who is an immortal pirate/ninja? You do you, baby boo! What I’m saying is, now is the time to let your literary freak flag fly… well it always is, but go with me on this!

So, when the dust has settled and the summer days are noticeably shorter you can look back with a little smirk. But then, fall is coming and the TBR list isn’t going to read itself, is it? Now, where is that spiced cider?
