Irregular’s Intel – Can Technology Take Us Too Far?

First let me say I am not a Luddite! I wholeheartedly embrace technology and I revel in each advance. I love how so much of the tech in Star Trek: TOS is so 20th Century now. But as I was watching Legion on FX the other night, it occurred to me that NOTHING good comes from time travel. If, by some chance, humankind cracks that code, that will be the end. We can’t even live among ourselves in three dimensions peacefully – add time to that and that’s all she wrote. Our common instinct is to find a way to weaponize the technology and then we get the Time Force!  Continue reading Irregular’s Intel – Can Technology Take Us Too Far?

Irregular’s Intel – What’s Next?

Over the past few months there has been a lot of change and a lot of travel. The good things is that, with all of the change, I feel like I’ve found my passion to write fiction again. There are also the videos that I used to watch for inspiration on there, too.  Continue reading Irregular’s Intel – My Virtual Training Partner

She Geek Critique – Realness in Action

It’s probably no surprise to most of you that I enjoy action movies. The violence, the fighting, the explosions – all of it. Plus, they’re usually movies that you can simply have a good time with and not need to concern yourself with some deep, meaningful plot. Of course, that doesn’t mean quality writing should be sacrificed. And one thing I’ve found that makes these movies even better is when there’s at least a touch of the real world included.  Continue reading She Geek Critique – Realness in Action

Irregular’s Intel – Working Amongst Your People

I’ve had a position change at work recently and, in doing so, I’ve joined a new team. Now, I was pretty comfortable with my old team. I could freely express myself and, although many were not ”geeky”, they could follow me in conversation. I enjoyed it and felt that it was as good as things could get for me, professionally… boy, was I wrong! Continue reading Irregular’s Intel – Working Amongst Your People
