Spring is pretty much in full swing and summer isn’t far behind. I start looking forward to the season finale of my favorite shows and begin planning my binge watching and summer reading. Let’s be honest, the TV has a strong hold and I know that my reading is nothing like it has been in the past. But I always manage to kick it up a bit once the shows end. Some nights I’ll come in from work, have dinner, put on some music, and spend the evening with a book, some comics, maybe both? I love my shows, don’t get me wrong, but I love my books and I look forward to being free of the hold that television has on me so I can knock down my “to be read” list by a book or three.

When it comes to comics, my summer list is all trades and graphic novels. I make purchases all through the year with the intent of burning through them all by mid-September. I don’t always succeed, but I do enjoy making the effort. Plus, if there’s a movie that’s based on a novel coming out, it’s time to challenge myself to get it read before opening weekend! So, I’m looking at my stacks and quietly making my lists… and I can’t wait!!
