As geeks, we get upset about a lot of things. Everything from the casting choice of a loved character to the wrong coloring of a costume, and everything in between. It is the stuff that hours-long discussions are made of. But on this week’s Geek Watch One we took a moment to talk about an issue that has plagued the geek community for a long time. And you know what? It felt good to put it out there… it really did. I love talking all things geek, but I also like to talk about meatier topics, too. I thinks that it is easy to be surface, to just keep it light. But it gets old after a while, like too many viewings of Batman ’66. 

When Geek Watch One started we intended to mix in some substance with the entertainment. But we somehow got a little heavy on one and light on the other. I hope to have more discussions about real issues. I like to think that the geeksters out there want the same, that you do enjoy some real talk from time to time. We know that geek culture is far from ideal and we all need to do our part to make it better for all of us. So I am not going to shy away from certain subjects because I might hurt someone’s feelings anymore. We’re all adults, so it is time to act like it… now go read some comics!
