We have all been there. We watch a movie, read a book, play a game or what have you and there’s that spark… you’re drawn… not just drawn, instantly hooked! You can’t explain it, but there’s something about that thing that gets its hooks in you and you want ALL THE THINGS to do with this obsession. It is biological, isn’t it… some will say psychological, but it goes deeper than that… it is almost at the subatomic level.

I’m not talking about things we generally enjoy like music, movies, science or reading. I’m talking about the thing that you get to experience in all of those different ways. You go from the book series to the movie. From the movie to the comic adaptation. From that to the movie soundtrack and the action figures. It’s funny how we want to experience that geekdom in every way possible, too. It doesn’t always go down like that, but when it does, it is awesome!

We never know when or if it happens. I mean, I’m a comic geek, but I don’t love all comics. But, when I am into something, I want every iteration of said thing. Case in point, my love for pulp spans books, comics, movies and TV. I never saw that train coming, but when it did, it hit me hard. I guess the best way to phrase it is “the geek wants what the geek wants”.
