The Gamer Geek Blog – Announcing Nothing

So two days ago Bravely Default turned four and to celebrate this Square Enix did something that Apple always does: announced an announcement. Now as someone who has to always be on the lookout for something to write about, this made me very mad and confused. They said they are going to be saying something soon, but what does that mean? The Gamer Geek Blog – Make Mine Music

So I was on my college radio station last week, talking about video games of course, and something I didn’t notice until at least half way through the show was that they were playing music while we were talking. I found that rather odd until I realized that we take the music in most games for granted, which is sad because a lot of games have amazing soundtracks, like Xenoblade. Half of its soundtrack is orchestrated and the other half has a more robotic feel to represent the organic and robotic half of the game, which is an amazing concept for a Wii game.

So after a few weeks of no real games coming out I realized that we are kinda in a drought for triple A games. So the past few days have not gone well for my future wallet. It’s bad enough I started the year out saying that I’d only spend $200 on games. Then companies started to announce stuff and I got a few ideas for some videos down the line for my channel… and now I’m here, post-E3, post-Pax and post-TGS8 (Tokyo Game Show), seeing at least two things I want to buy from every show! GGBSo it’s a weird time to be a Nintendo fan. We’re in a drought of games, waiting for a mid-cycle replacement for the WiiU and the Nintendo direct today is about the 3DS.
