I remember when Saturday meant a morning filled with cartoons. From Super Friends to Looney Toons and everything in between, it was awesome. I was convinced that I would eventually grow out of it, but I did not. The cartoons just got either super cool or hella weird. In either case, it was one of the things that made Saturdays the best. It wasn’t until I got older and discovered the fall preview issue of the TV Guide that I got so jazzed about Saturday mornings! I could gather intel on the new cartoons coming out for Saturday, as well as the syndicated ones… I was becoming an informed viewer and I loved it! Here at the Malted Meeple, one of the key things we provide our guests is a friendly and open environment. This can be challenging when a game like Dungeons & Dragons has a mythos behind it of the group of nerdy guys sitting around a table with their pocket protectors and Doritos. Comics Cosmos – A Killer Graphic Novel
Anyone over the age of 30 knows about Jeffrey Dahmer and likely remembers the details of his arrest and trial in the early 90s. Even if you’re younger, you no doubt recognize the name of the man who took the lives of 17 victims. Artist John “Derf” Backderf went to highschool with Dahmer in the 70s and in the graphic novel My Friend Dahmer, he recounts his interactions with him, how much of an outsider he really was and how the toxic family environment he lived in had a hand in creating the monster he was to become.
