The Gamer Geek Blog – Lowdown on E3

GGBHey geeksters!

Well E3 is all but over this year, and honestly it was kinda ehh for me personally. I’ll start with Nintendo since they did the least. Three new pokemon were shown off: first is the bird that comes with every region, Pikipek the woodpecker, then Yungoos the mongoose, and some bug thing called Grubin. Then they showed off the new Zelda with the subtitle Breath of the Wild − and the first seconds of the game break everything we have come to know about Zelda. Breath of the Wild will be a very open world, to the point you can beat the game naked and without doing anything in the story! They also revealed a new IP, Ever Oasis which is an RPG. The art style looks like a bunch of things mashed together, which isn’t a bad thing, I just wish they had gone with something a little more action based.

The only thing I really cared about from Microsoft was new custom controllers for $80 in a wide range of colors, and the Xbox One Slim, which has now been dubbed the Xbox Ones. Plus two indie titles: Cuphead and Blood Stained, which probably aren’t coming out this year, but that’s ok, I’m just happy to see that they have some gameplay.

Then Sony gave us The Last Guardian release date of Oct 25, 2016. I mean I’m personally not getting the game, but it’s great to see that a game that’s been in development for 10+ years is coming out. The only thing that made me throw my wallet at my laptop was I Am Setsuna. I know nothing about it, but it looks and sounds amazing so I’m going to buy it when it hits stream.

Other than that, E3 kinda just happened. The leaks ruined the press conferences and some rumors have yet to be confirmed so yeah, more waiting…
