Irregular’s Intel – Living Between Wednesdays

First, I want to give a shout out to my man Wordburglar because one of his raps inspired the title of this week’s entry. So, for us comic fans, Christmas comes weekly! Pretty much every Wednesday the new comics come out and, sometimes, that’s the only saving grace of a hard week. Even if it is a light week, we get to congregate at the safe havens that are our local comic shops. I mean, while I was away for work, the struggle was real. I was missing home and my routine was ALL the way off… add to that I didn’t get my weekly fix.  Continue reading Irregular’s Intel – Living Between Wednesdays

Irregular’s Intel – Can Technology Take Us Too Far?

First let me say I am not a Luddite! I wholeheartedly embrace technology and I revel in each advance. I love how so much of the tech in Star Trek: TOS is so 20th Century now. But as I was watching Legion on FX the other night, it occurred to me that NOTHING good comes from time travel. If, by some chance, humankind cracks that code, that will be the end. Over the past few months there has been a lot of change and a lot of travel. The good things is that, with all of the change, I feel like I’ve found my passion to write fiction again. So, with all of that, It looks like I have a new mission added to my plate… that elusive Lucas Tate sequel. I’m excited and I can’t wait to get it going. I think that I have found my desire to write again!  Continue reading Irregular’s Intel – What’s Next?

Irregular’s Intel – Living the Spy Life (Sorta)

During my recent absence, I had the opportunity to spend some time at a location that I had been wanting to visit for the last few years, The Safehouse in Chicago. If you’ve followed my blogs for any amount of time or have listened to me on GWI or MMG, you know that I am pretty much obsessed with all things spy. It doesn’t matter if it is books, games or music – I love it! Hell, I even visited a museum in DC dedicated to the craft! So, when I first heard that there was a spy themed restaurant, you know I had to go there!!  Continue reading Irregular’s Intel – Living the Spy Life (Sorta)

Irregular’s Intel – My Virtual Training Partner

Lately, I’ve started getting back to my martial arts roots. I remembered that one of the things that I would do to stay inspired would be to read training manuals and to watch training videos. But it is no longer the 90s and we have YouTube! So, now, I get to mix my training with some of my fandoms, such as watching a video about how many martial arts does John Wick know or real life examples of CQC (close quarters combat) from Metal Gear Solid. There are also the videos that I used to watch for inspiration on there, too.  Continue reading Irregular’s Intel – My Virtual Training Partner
