She Geek Critique – Haunted America

Regular readers/listeners know that I am into the paranormal, specifically ghosts, demons, possessions and hauntings. I read about it throughout the year and, of course, have gone on many investigations of purportedly haunted locations. But as this is the time of year when everyone’s thoughts turn to the spooky side, it’s a good time for a book that shares some of these haunted tales, along with the true stories behind them.  Continue reading She Geek Critique – Haunted America

Irregular’s Intel – Good Writing

We live in a time where published authors don’t even blink at the notion of writing for a comic. Stephen King, Gail Carriger and Ray Bradbury have all had their works adapted to comics. As autumn comes upon us I begin to feel it in the air. The energy, the excitement… it’s my time. I love fall for a number of reasons. The color changes, the crispness in the air, football. But there is one thing in particular that makes this time of the year extra special for me: it is prime reading time!! You know it is!! I mean, for some reason it just seems that the weather is usually perfect to hole up and get my read on!  Continue reading Irregular’s Intel – My Reason For the Season

She Geek Critique – Retail Dystopia

When you consider the state of the world today, it’s not exactly far fetched to have a scenario where one company takes over virtually an entire industry and becomes one of the top employers. It’s scary to imagine, but entirely plausible, that all media will one day be run by Disney, all technology by Apple and all retail by Amazon. And it’s that last idea that’s behind Rob Hart’s novel The WarehouseContinue reading She Geek Critique – Retail Dystopia
