The Geek Watch One Big Brownie Bake-off Bonanza

If you’re a geekster (and you’re reading this so obviously you are), you know that we’re heavily involved in Con on the Cob coming up in mid-October. You also know we have a bit of a thing for brownies (ok, maybe more than a bit). We’ve talked about the party we’re hosting on the Friday of CotC and the brownie bake-off we’re having then, so we thought it was time to share some details for those who are interested in entering the competition.

When: Friday, October 16 at 9 p.m. (as soon as the Geek Watch One party begins)

Where: Con on the Cob Torture Chamber (a.k.a. the hotel gym) brownies2

If you dropped Destiny a few months after it was released, well now would be a good time to pick it back up. With the Taken King DLC being released, with it comes a totally revamped level system, changes to the way gear works and levels and most importantly we get some story on the game. In High school 2006 I started collecting figures. I started back to reading comics in college.

V-Yellow’s Comic Box – Video Game Comics

I think video games should have more of a push to have their stand alone comic book series. I am aware that there are comic books with video games titles but those only seem to happen when companies want to tell a prequel story about an up and coming video game that is going to be released soon. The only comic series that comes to mind that is still going strong with the stories is the Injustice: Gods Among Us comic series. I would love to read more ongoing comic books about some characters from Mass Effect, Uncharted, Tomb Raider, Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption, etc. I think these game companies should make a deal with Marvel, DC or Dark Horse, just for example. Miss Dawn’s Musings – Outside the Box

My favorite comic book character (can’t exactly say superhero) is Deadpool. For some reason, this seems to take many people by surprise (mostly male, mostly those who don’t know me very well). Admittedly, Deadpool is not a “girly” character, nor are the majority of his plotlines what would be considered female friendly (in other words, they’re usually violent as all get out).
