V-Yellow’s Comic Box – Super Bowl Spots

Blog-VYCBWhile watching the Super Bowl last weekend, I noticed that there were a lot of superhero film spots. With scenes from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel, Captain America Civil War, Batman Vs Superman, X-Men: Age of Apocalypse, and Deadpool (which will be released this Friday, just in time for Valentine’s Day). After watching all of these previews I couldn’t figure out at the time which one I liked the best. Out of all of these movies I am still very excited about Batman Vs Superman, but their TV spot didn’t do too much for me. To my surprise the one that had my interest was for Captain America Civil War. Plus my favorite commercial of the night was the Coca-Cola ad with Ant-Man and the Hulk. So guys, let me know what your favorite TV spot of the night was in the commits below.

Miss Dawn’s Musings – Sportsball and Stuff

Blog-MDMThis year, for the first time in many years, I did not watch the Super Bowl (or the Big Game or whatever the hell you’re allowed to call it and not get in trouble for infringing the rights of the poor little NFL). Instead, I relaxed, read, watched some Netflix (Bob’s Burgers, if you need to know) and caught all the movie trailers online that were shown during the game. Best Geeky Finds – The Death of Superman

Blog-BGFImagine a world where the tale of the Man of Steel is dark. Not like destroying-Metropolis-to-take-down-Zod dark, but Batman dark. A world where Nicholas Cage is Superman (not wanting to be or thinks he is Superman, which I think Cage might already believe, but actual is playing him). Where Chris Rock is Jimmy Olsen. A Pre-“Superman Returns” film with Kevin Spacey as a Lex Luthor/Brainiac hybrid. What kind of Superman movie would this be? One directed by Tim Burton. Irregular’s Intel – The Bookstore

Blog-IIEarlier this week, Amazon announced that it will be opening more physical bookstores, in addition to the one that has been in operation since October 2015 in Seattle. This store is the brainchild of the same man who created the Kindle ereader. Remember the ebook vs physical copy debate that was going on and how print was becoming a thing of the past? Well, judging from this move by Amazon, the argument was moot. I am a Johnny-come-lately when it comes to ebook and ecomics. I do enjoy the convenience, but it is not the same as holding that lovely creation in your hands. Continue reading Irregular’s Intel – The Bookstore

The Gamer Geek Blog – Killer Instinct World Cup and Nintendo News

Blog-GGHey Geeksters!

Just wow, ok, so there’s a lot to talk about this week since everything wants to happen at once. So let’s start with this past weekend and the Killer Instinct World Cup – that was a wonder to watch in and of itself. Normally KI is just at Evo and Combo Breaker, but now they have their own event which is really saying something. If you don’t know what KI is, head here to watch the event. Rico Suave, the KI Evo winner, won the world cup, but almost lost it playing a “bad” character, proving the point that anyone can beat anyone in KI.
