Next month will be the release of Batman v. Superman and fans have been waiting for over a year for this movie. I’ve been in anticipation of this thing since I heard about it two years ago. This one is going to get a touch rant-y, but I make no apologies. Cosplay is a growing passion among geeks, showing up more at conventions and even being noticed by the mainstream. Unfortunately, this means there are a lot of people out there who don’t know cosplay etiquette. I’m not referring to the “norms” who gawk at it either. I’m talking about fellow geeks who attend cons and seem to think that it’s ok to make negative, often derogatory comments about cosplayers. On Geek Watch One this week, we briefly touch on the now-defunct Comics Code and the MPAA and the seemingly arbitrary manner in which comics and movies are rated. Yes, this stems from a discussion of Deadpool and R-rated comic book movies. But obviously it’s larger than that. Irregular’s Intel – The Bookstore
Earlier this week, Amazon announced that it will be opening more physical bookstores, in addition to the one that has been in operation since October 2015 in Seattle. This store is the brainchild of the same man who created the Kindle ereader. Remember the ebook vs physical copy debate that was going on and how print was becoming a thing of the past? Well, judging from this move by Amazon, the argument was moot. I am a Johnny-come-lately when it comes to ebook and ecomics.
